Rogues of Medicare

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is tracking about 180 fugitives who have fleeced hundreds of millions of dollars from the taxpayer-funded Medicare program as well as private insurers while submitting billions in bogus claims. The vast majority of defendants have fled to Cuba, Mexico and other countries in Latin America. The following gallery, which the Miami Herald has updated periodically over the past decade, is a partial list of healthcare fraud defendants who have fled the country or been arrested.
